Choice of drink - Water or Coke?
Do you drink 8-10 glasses of water a day?
We all know that water is important but did you know…
Coke - A great house hold cleaner!
To clean a toilet:
Pour a can of Coke into the toilet bowl and let it sit for one hour, then flush.
The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china
To clean rust spots from chrome:
Rub with a crumpled piece of foil dipped in Coke
To clean battery terminals:
Pour a can of Coke over terminals to bubble away the corrosion
To loosen a rusty bolt:
Apply a Coke soaked cloth for several minutes
To remove grease from clothing:
Add a can of Coke to a load of greasy clothes and detergent and run through a regular cycle
Now the question is….would YOU prefer a glass of water or Coke inside your body?
What impact can low water intake have on your body from a muscular point of view?
Water is an essential part of the body's mechanism to keep all the systems functioning, we know that without a heart beating and all the other internal organs functioning, life will cease.
Therefore when we become low in water the body will adapt to this by redirecting all the available water to the most essential parts of our body for survival. This will mean that in a dehydrated state our skin and voluntary muscular system gets limited water supply! (Much like our gardens due to the current drought conditions).
So how does this affect your pain?
When muscles are dehydrated they become very tight and unable to move the way they would if they were well hydrated. People may begin to experience headaches caused by lack of water as well as increased tension on the muscles.
Our therapists report that you can just feel a distinct tightness in a person who does not take care of their health versus those that does.
So please have a water bottle with you at all times, use a jug of water with lemon slices on your desk whilst at work, or at home keep a nice inviting jug in the fridge with a daily goal to finish it.
If you prefer it hot- slice/squeeze lemon into a cup of boiling water and start your day this way! If you need further motivation…water is also necessary for weight loss! OR Take a look at the wilted dry plants in the garden when they are thirsty…. that is what we are doing to our bodies every day we deprive it of water (And no coffee and tea does not equate to water! In fact the opposite).
