This is generally due to the high intrinsic demands we put on our bodies to compete. External factors also influence these types of injures such as; Being tackled, Uneven playing surface, Landing poorly.

A sprain is a stretched or torn ligament. Ligaments are tissues that connect bones at a joint. Falling, twisting, or getting hit can all cause a sprain. Ankle, Knee and Wrist Sprains are very common.

A strain is a stretched or torn muscle or tendon. Tendons are tissues that connect muscle to bone. Twisting or pulling these tissues can cause a strain. Strains can happen suddenly or develop over time. Back and hamstring muscle strains are extremely common.

A Message From Our Founder

Welcome to Elite Myotherapy.

I am the proud Founder and General Manager of this very unique and highly experienced 20-year-old business that specialises in restoring people’s lives through identifying and correcting the source of pain in a non-intrusive manner.

My background is in Myotherapy and I have lectured at RMIT University,Victoria University and The Australian College of Sports Therapy.

I was Vice President and Professional Development coordinator on the board of Myotherapy Association ( IRMA) for over 10 years and took a lead role coordinating the professional development program for members. My passion is health, vitality and empowering others to be at their best.

I have worked as part of the medical team for the Sydney and Athens Olympic Teams, co-ordinated the Myotherapy and Massage department for the Essendon Football Club, prior to that I worked for Essendon football club for 8 years. I also worked for the Melbourne Commonwealth Games as well as travelled internationally for 8 years with the top 150 International women’s tennis players (WTA) and worked at the Australian Open Tennis tournament for 20 years. I have worked with the Australian Institute of sport and National Tennis Academy’s tennis program. To name a few, I currently have a passion for helping young athletes from a variety of sports reach their true potential using a unique system that helps them “MOVE WELL, PERFORM WELL AND LOVE LIFE!”

With this experience, I personally hand select my team from the most experienced Myotherapists in the country who have also worked at elite athlete level. We have developed a unique system that enables quick identification of a body’s dysfunction and its effective correction.
